What would you do if...?People with war experience can probably recall what it was like to be fleeing from a deadly enemy; they will probably also confirm that our survival instincts can sometimes produce acts of bravery, turning a fleeing soldier instantly into a war hero. The extreme conditions of war can make heroes out of people who otherwise would never have believed they were capable of heroic acts. In everyday life, too, we can sometime witness acts of heroism, although perhaps slightly less spectacular ones than under war conditions. Could you save the life of a drowning man? What would you do, if the air raid siren suddenly went off? While socialist societies have a deep and abiding faith in peace, this is not generally true for the entire population of the world. Our enemies produce more and more weapons and take every opportunity to test them. A responsible person should know how to defend not only his own life, but also the lives of the people around him.
