Donald Blinken
A founding partner of the investment firm E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co. He served on the boards of several art and cultural institutions, was the president of the Brooklyn Academy of Music and chairman of the board of the State University of New York, before becoming U.S. ambassador to Hungary from 1994 to 1998. From 2000 Ambassador Blinken was Secretary General of the World Federation of the United Nations Association. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Central European University.
Vera Blinken
The wife of Ambassador Blinken, herself a Hungarian refugee after World War II. She is Secretary of the International Rescue Committee, which played a major role in assisting the wave of refugees from Hungary after the defeat of the 1956 Revolution.
